The TANTRUM hook is the culmination of decades of experience and input from some of the biggest names in the industry based in the world’s giant marlin hotspots. TTS and TANTRUM Lures founder – and full time Kona charter boat captain - Nick Durham applied his own theories to the input of his peers and put his designs on paper back in 2019, resulting in one of the most popular heavy tackle hook designs we’ve seen. Previously produced by another manufacturer, these hooks were good – really good – but we always felt like they could be better.
We’ve spent the last two years investing a huge amount of time, money and energy in to bringing you what we believe to be the finest heavy tackle trolling hooks on the market. How’d we do it? We employed the services of a leading metallurgist to come up with a formula that would tick all the boxes – strength, rust resistance and point retention. With this formula in hand, we founded our own factory, sourced the highest Japanese grade steel and engaged a super high-tech heat treatment facility – we combined the best materials and processes to create consistency and bring you a hook that you can rely on. With all the right curves and a lethally sharp point, the TTS TANTRUM hook is designed to go in with ease and come out with difficulty!
All the science and metallurgy gobbledygook aside, what we have here is an extremely strong, extremely sharp and extremely durable hook that has already been proven on giant blue marlin the world over. With all that we invest in to our fishing, it sure is nice to be able to count on the very thing that is keeping you connected to the fish.
